Having been spectators and keen to contribute to access to culture in our rural environment, we wanted to play an active role. We believe that culture, and the arts as a whole, are social and artistic levers that promote openness to others and tolerance. So our aim was to create a cultural event at the heart of our region.
We’re delighted to welcome you to the 7th Renc’Arts festival in Augerolles.
We’ve taken up the challenge of creating a cultural event in the heart of our rural area, always with the aim of offering everyone the chance to discover and enjoy a variety of shows, reflecting the creativity and artistic richness of live performance.
Throughout the summer, theatre and circus arts take over various venues in Augerolles.
The principle of the free price, known as the ‘hat price’, allows each spectator to participate in the financing of the event, according to his or her means and desire. But the free price is not the same as free, because with us there is no ‘In’ and no ‘Off’, we pay the artists, which is why we need your support.
The Renc’Arts festival, run by the Arts-Jeux-Rôles association, exists thanks to the efforts of volunteers.
Do Artists Need Their Audience? Without a doubt—without spectators, there is no show. But can artists also rely on their audience physically? Miguel Rubio takes on this challenge with Playground.
Here, the staging depends entirely on the spectators. Their gaze, their presence, and even their bodies support the structure of the performance. Seated on eight chairs connected to the Chinese pole, they become a key element of the scenography. Those who accept this role will feel just how much the artist leans on them to keep everything in balance. Blending Chinese pole acrobatics, dance, theater, and humor,Playgroundis a performance full of surprises and extraordinary adventures. It is an aerial and absurd playground where comedy meets acrobatic prowess, suspended more than eight meters above the ground.
After collaborating with numerous companies and diverse projects, Miguel Rubio wanted to take the Chinese pole to the streets. He designed a self-sufficient system in which the audience itself becomes the pillar of the performance. WithPlayground, the magic of the Chinese pole comes to life, unfolding anywhere and for everyone.

Playground is a comical and absurd production that rises 8 metres high, combining Chinese pole, dance, theatre, acrobatics and humour. A tragicomedy full of surprises and unexpected twists and turns. This is Miguel Rubio’s challenge: his set design comes to life thanks to those who decide to support it. Eight chairs form part of the structure, and the audience who occupy them become a fundamental pillar. Without them, the show would not hold together.
As he tries to balance on the Chinese pole, Miguel Rubio faces unpredictable situations. To overcome them, he needs the physical and emotional help of the audience, who become essential accomplices in the show. Playground is a warm and characterful solo show based on a collaborative anchoring system. Here, the connection between the artist and the audience is key: without their support, the magic does not work.
